- Members come from the length and breadth of the Peninsula and beyond. You don’t have to live in the area to be a member.
- Monthly meetings are held in the Donaghadee Community Centre.
- Activity groups meet wherever the group decides. Walking, Horticulture, Days Out, and Lunch change locations each time they meet.
- Retired and semi-retired people come together in u3a and learn together, not for qualifications but for enjoyment!
- There is no lower age of membership, no qualifications are required and fees are kept to a minimum
- Members share their skills and life experiences, learners teach and teachers learn and there is no distinction between them
- It is a unique and exciting organisation that provides members of the community with life-changing opportunities.

Health and Safety
There is a requirement from u3a Trust that each local u3a:
- conducts a Risk Assessment for their activities
- revisits their Risk Assessments annually
- holds a copy of their Risk Assessments
Where applicable First Aid Kits are made available for activities.
